This year we made a HUGE addition to the outdoor studio. My sweet husband built a large pergola, flagstone path, and flower garden for me. We used the space that was our neglected vegetable garden and transformed it into a photographer's paradise.
Like all our gardening adventures, we did not really know what we were doing. I had an image in my head and we tried to make it happen. I was thrilled with how it turned out. The changing seasons brought a great variety to how the entire garden looks. Most of these photos were taken early in the summer. The Pergola is now covered in vines, roses, and Morning Glories! I adore the rope swing and I have had so much fun with it this summer. I even go out there and drink my coffee in the morning and dream about new projects :-)
A special thank you to my father who built the two benches in my flower garden. Both of these benches were made from old headboards and foot boards. One I found at Salvation Army and one is from my brothers' childhood bedroom! My father also built the board walk in the wildflower garden. My wildflower garden was a little out of control. You could even say it was WILD! I needed a way to tame it and make it more suitable for children's portraits. The boardwalk has been perfect!
